Suffolk Police sent out a warning to motorists in Newmarket this week to be extra careful not to leave valuables in display in their cars following a string of thefts.
Windows were smashed and bags were stole from cars in the Newmarket area earlier this week, two cars parked at Newmarket cemetry in the High Street were targeted on Sunday, plus another vehicle was broken into later that night.
Police are warning local car drivers not to leave any items of value on display in their cars over the next few weeks and, where possible, park in brightly lit or busy areas.
Anyone with information about the thefts should call Suffolk police’s Crime Investigation Bureau (01473) 613500 or Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
