National supermarket giant, Sainsbury's may be taking over a unit on Exning Road.
Although it is believed that a planning application has not yet been filed with Forest Heath District Council, Sainsbury's has submitted a premises licence application that will allow them to sell alcohol between 6am and 10pm and is planning on offering 'late-night refreshments'.
Newmarket already has a Waitrose, Tesco, Iceland and Co-Op, as well as a Costcutter only seconds away from the proposed site on Exning Road.
However, the nearest Sainsbury's stores are currently in Haverhill, Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds.
Do you think Newmarket needs another supermarket?
