The fight is on to save Newmarket library!
Suffolk County Council currently supports 44 libraries in the county but has recently announced that 29 have been shortlisted for closure. The rest, it is hoped, can be taken over by other organisations.
Fears are rife for the future of Newmarket's town library, located in the Guineas shopping centre.
The library costs over £390,000 per year to run and is currently considered to be a massively important community facility.
Former Newmarket Mayor, Jane Bailey, is appealing to the town's residents to fight to keep the Newmarket library open so it can continue to benefit local people.
