As I am typing, the sun is streaming through the window.
People are walking past in t-shirts and light clothing; school children have finished for the day and have wrapped their coats around their waists.
Yes people, we are heading into summer! And ok, so the weather is still changeable but let's try to stay positive. Let's plan those barbecues, book that caravan holiday in the UK and meet up with friends in the beer garden of our favourite pubs.
But with so many public houses, bars and inns in the Newmarket area, which beer garden should we choose?
We are lucky enough to have a whole host of great pubs in and around Newmarket. However, we can recommend two in particular - The White Horse Inn in Exning and The Green Man Six Mile Bottom.
The White Horse Inn
A former coaching inn owned by the Welford family since 1923, The White Horse Inn is a traditional, charming inn with its own courtyard - perfect for the summer months. As part of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), anyone who's into their ales and stouts are sure to have a great time!
Plus The White Horse Inn near Newmarket offers a range of delicious, freshly prepared food, locally sourced whenever possible. Choose from Suffolk ham, Newmarket sausages, a Sunday carvery and much more.
The Green Man Six Mile Bottom
Located on London Road near Newmarket, The Green Man Six Mile Bottom is an absolute must for meat lovers!
Landlord and former gamekeeper Richard Clarke uses his extensive knowledge to create exceptional, seasonal game dishes and steaks that include rump, sirloin, ribeye, fillet and T-bone.
Anyone up for trying a 72oz rump steak, served with chips, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes? Finish the entire meal and it's on the house!
