Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service works proactively to prevent fires and other emergencies from happening
Of our 35 fire stations, four are crewed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (full-time) and three are crewed during the day (day crewed). All stations have on-call crews where firefighters respond to emergencies from their main jobs or from home as and when required. 28 stations have on-call crews only. Recruiting, training and retaining on-call firefighters is, therefore, extremely important to the effective running of the Service. Our headquarters is based at Endeavour House, Ipswich which is also the county council’s headquarters building.
