Things have changed so much in our shopping habits over the years. Our parents and grandparents would have popped down to the local butchers and greengrocers to pick up the ingredients for meals, and had a chat with others doing the same. It was a much more social time, and heading to the supermarket.
Markets can be such a great way of buying local produce – whether it be picking up a loaf of fresh bread from the bakery, and some Welsh cakes, to buying some local meat, and picking up the ingredients for tea.
Newport Market are even hosting a free 40s themed Tea Dance this Thursday (18th May) at 1.30pm – 3.30pm to raise awareness for dementia, so why not head along and explore the market at the same time? You might be surprised! #buylocal and help our local businesses grow!
