The Jamaica Inn is one of Bangor's favourite bar and restaurants. Top quality pub food served in a warm and welcoming atmosphere earned this local restaurant a coveted place in the finals of the 2007 Bangor Business Awards ('Best Eaterie' category).
If you are searching for a restaurant with a lively, buzzing atmosphere, or a bar that serves more than 'bar food', The Jamaica Inn provides the perfect solution. With an extensive new bistro menu, 'a la carte' evening menu and separate vegetarian menu, you will be spoilt for choice.
Owned and managed by husband and wife team David and Michelle Harding, the Jamaica Inn pub and restaurant is located on the Seacliff Road, enjoying panoramic views across Belfast Lough to Whitehead. Away from the hustle and bustle of Bangor, you can watch the world go by, content that you are sitting in one of the best pub restaurants Bangor has to offer.
Dinner with friends, drinks after work, a night out with the girls - or boys! - The Jamaice Inn manages to be everything to everybody.
RESTAURANT
As chef-proprietor, Dave Harding has many years experience working in restaurants in Northern Ireland incuding Shanks and TaTu and Michelin Star and AA rosette restaurants throughout England and Wales. Dave prides himself on the fact that the Jamaica Inn serves only the freshest ingredients, sourced locally and cooked fresh to order.
Menus encompass everything from seafood, classic pasta dishes, risottos, fantastic steaks (easily the best in Bangor!) to lighter lunchtime options. The special blackboard changes daily, and a separate kids menu caters for the full range of tiny tots!
Food is served all day Monday to Thursday 12 noon to 9pm, Friday and Saturday 12noon to 9.30pm and Sunday 12.30pm to 8pm. Booking is essential at weekends as the restaurant is exceptionally busy.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Jamaica Inn offers a great range of entertainment from live acoustic sets on Friday and Saturday nights (starting at 9.30pm) to a pub quiz on Tuesday nights.
The Jamaica Inn's first 'Open Mike Night' takes place on Thursday 31st May supported by representatives from local band Kowalski, and later in the summer (Sunday 26th August) a 'Big Band Extravaganza' which offers bands, beers and a BBQ in the beer garden.
