Norfolk author brothers Alex and Simon Scarrow to have new books published on same day.
February 3rd sees the publication of Alex Scarrow’s third book in his acclaimed TIMERIDERS series. The Doomsday Code follows the team into the dark days of the Feudal Era to restore the correct time line before the future of humanity is irrevocably changed for the worse. Following an unprecedented nine-book deal with Puffin Alex’s first book in the series was shortlisted for the Galaxy Book Awards – the oscars of the publishing world.
The same day sees the publication of Simon Scarrow’s first young adult novel – Gladiator: Fight For Freedom – following the adventures of a young boy slave as he fights for his life in the brutal and cruel world of gladiator warriors. Puffin have signed up for four titles and have sold rights to a number of European countries as well as winning a six figure advance from Disney’s publishers in the US.
In a bold new initiative Puffin have paid for a television commercial to jointly promote both books. The commercial is the tip of a promotional campaign designed to propel both books to the top of the charts.
Simon and Alex have been writing stories since they were schoolboys. While Alex went on to become a rock musician before working in the computer games industry Simon completed a research degree at the University of East Anglia before becoming a teacher. Both now write full time and meet up regularly in Norwich’s coffee shops to brainstorm new ideas for books and screenplays.
A special signed collectors’ edition of Gladiator: Fight for Freedom is available from the Scarrow website: www.scarrow.co.uk
