Norwich's carnival arrives this week with four days of fun, as part of the Lord Mayor's Celebrations.
The celebrations start on Thursday 8th July, with comedy and street acts, with a parade on Friday and the main carnival on Saturday and lots of other things in between - see list below.
There will be a funfair in Chapelfield Gardens from 11am to 10pm Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.
On Sunday you will also be able to enjoy the Lord Mayor’s 5km Classic Road Race in the city centre from 4.45pm
Brand new attractions for 2010 include the Caterpillar Crawl in aid of the Big C on Saturday 10am - 4pm at NorwichCathedral and the Great Norwich Duck Race at Riverside on Sunday from Julian Bridge to Novi Sad Friendship Bridge.
Families with younger children will find plenty to keep them busy from a children’s corner at St George’s Plain to face-painting, big bubbles and Punch & Judy and other fun activities in Chapelfield Gardens, while the under-18s can head to the SNAP disco at Open.
And those who want to party into the small hours can check out the Mardi Gras Party Night at Squares, Monsters’ Ball at The Waterfront or Somewhere Carnival at Henry’s.
All the money raised at this year’s procession will go to the Rotary House for the Deaf Society.
