With local people gearing up for the Larking Gowen Norwich Half Marathon on 27th November, it's great to hear that race entries are set to reach maximum capacity for a second year running.

Race Organisers, Larking Gowen, have given ten "Golden Bond Places" to Macmillan Cancer Support, the race's chosen charity.

These places are available to members of the public on application, provided they pledge to raise a minimum of £100 for the charity.

Helen Chapman, Macmillan’s Area Fundraising Manager, said “This is Macmillan’s centenary year, so these places will enable us to raise as much money as possible and fund more services for people living with cancer. The successful applicants will join over 100 runners who have already signed up to run as part of Team Macmillan.”

Mark Curtis, from race sponsors Larking Gowen, added, “We’re hoping that lots of people will apply for the places, and embrace being part of Team Macmillan on the day.

“This year’s race is set to be another huge success, with entry levels already higher than previous years at this time, so make sure you secure your place soon!”

Applications for the ‘Golden Bond Places’ need to be sent to Macmillan by Friday 4th November 2011. Further information on how to apply can be found on the official race website at www.cityofnorwichhalfmarathon.com
