With so many exciting events taking place in Norwich this month it has been hard to keep up and perhaps easy to miss something spectacular.
Saturday 18 May saw ‘Museums at Night’ open Norwich Castle Museum until 10pm for free!
For me this is a great Saturday night. Being able to wander at your leisure around the castle which I have visited many times growing up in Norwich. Not only was the castle open late but there were many other activities to take in.
With the relaxed sounds of the DixieMix Jazz band floating around the castle, we wandered, taking in the Castle Keep which had been transformed by Brian Griffiths 'These Foolish Travels' into a medieval camp site with tents adorning the floor and canopies hanging from high. This being part of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival programme gave a new perspective to the keep.
There were lots to keep both children and adults happy with the cafe and bar open, stilt-walkers and much much more. All rounded off in spectacular fashion by fire throwers and eaters with the evening backdrop of the Castle.
I'm looking forward to next year already!
