The local charitable organisation has been arranging the special Christmas Day for the past twenty years.
Senior members of the community who have spent Christmas without family are invited to spend a day where they are treated to sherry, turkey and trimmimgs, brass band entertainment and even a few games of bingo!
For several years, Saddleworth Round Table have arranged the event as the knew, whether you lived in your own home or a residential/care home, Christmas without family was very lonely, they even supply transport to ensure nobody misses out on the super social day.
200 people this year returned home after a day of being waitered on and being made to feel special again. They always have a great day, chatting with others that they may not have seen for a long time and generally getting into the spirit of Christmas.
