Last weekend saw the much-awaited opening of the Burscough Wharf canalside development in the heart of Burscough.
West Lancashire's mayor, Councillor John Baldock, officially opened the £3million development on Friday, and visitors over the weekend were treated to live entertainment and music, with acts including McDonalds Dance Academy and balloon modeller Shaun Sweet.
The development alongside the Leeds-Liverpool Canal came about through a partnership between property developers Thomas Guy and local group Burscough Moving Forward. In total 12,000 sq ft of historic buildings were refurbished and developed to create new shops and restaurants.
The development is sure to become a firm favourite with locals as well as visitots to the area.
