This being the first blog post we've made, it might be a bit rocky - please bear with us while we find our feet!
An introduction first of all - my name is Phil Sumner and I'm a member of Oswestry Musical Theatre Company (OMTC), who I'm writing on behalf of.
Our main aims for this blog are:
The company started rehearsals for our next show, Annie Get Your Gun, in December. After a long Christmas break (due to the inclement weather in early January), we've started back with a passion and have just started "blocking", or putting things into position on stage rather than concentrating purely on the words and music.
For this show we are very pleased to have on board the talents of three local professionals and they're all new to our company for this show:
We wish them all the best, and thank them in advance for their contributions!
"Annie Get Your Gun" runs from Tuesday, 13 April through to Saturday, 17th April. Performances start at 7:30pm and are held at the Marches School, Morda Road in Oswestry.
Tickets will be available from Music Makers, Albion Hill in Oswestry from the 22nd of March. Tickets for OMTC members will be available the week before through the usual channels.
OMTC's committee members are currently investigating an option of putting on a pantomime in early December, instead of the traditional show in October. Any feedback on this would be welcome! Comment here or contact any committee member.
We are always on the lookout for new on- and off- stage members for the company, and we have a particular shortage of men willing to appear on-stage! If you've ever felt like treading the boards, you don't need to think you can sing or dance - get in contact with us and we'll show you how easy it can be to get started!
For more information about OMTC or our shows, please see http://omtc.info, or contact either Kathryn Mottram on 01691-682267 or Mark Lord on 01691-662138
I'm chair and performing member of the Oswestry Musical Theatre Company (http://www.omtc.info) committee.
