The Inside Out Art Group is linking up with local traders and retailers to help promote and celebrate Oswestry's local businesses through a year-long art project.
Our artists are looking to local businesses for inspiration, aiming to produce artworks which celebrate and promote the market town's unique tradition of independent shops, retailers and manufacturers.
Art can help promote businesses in ways beyond ordinary advertising. We'll be working to engage Oswestry Chamber of Commerce, Shropshire Council, as well as local, regional and national trade and manufacturing associations in the project.
We'll also be linking this project to local, regional and national art networks.
Does this sound interesting?
If you think your business could both inspire and benefit from this project, get in touch: our contact information is at the bottom of the page. This project won't cost you a penny! All you have to do is be willing to do is make a bit of time and room for an artist to visit your business. They may come and do some sketching or painting, they might take photographs, or they might arrange to work at or near your shop or industrial unit.
The main idea is to foster a working relationship between the artist and your business, hopefully leading to inspiration for engaging and unique artworks.
The Inside Out Art Group will be holding monthly get-togethers for the project at The Willow Gallery, Willow St., Oswestry. Anyone and everyone whose interested in being involved – or just curious to see what other artists and businesses are doing – is welcome to attend if they have time.
Please don't feel like you have to come to the meetings if you're too busy! We'll post regularly on our blog, and you can check out progress of the project there.
