On October 14th 2010, Kinoculture showed a regional premiere of the hard hitting and critically acclaimed Sundance Film Festival winner 'Restrepo' having been made Dogwoof Ambassadors.
The Attfield Theatre hosted the screening in their intimate 97 seat theatre, just perfect for real film watching. There was a warm welcome at the Attfield and everyone took their seats. The screening began with a short interview with one of the filmakers to set the scene, and then we spent the next 90 mins in the company of a deployment of a platoon of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley.
Really stunning and thought-provoking documentary! So off we went to The Fox for a debrief. :)
KINOKULTURE have announced a new season of monthly screening at The Attfield Theatre.
The next Oswestry film screening will be on Thursday 18th November (film title still to be confirmed). On top of that, is the exciting screening of Blood of a Poet with new live score by Steven Severin coming up on Tuesday 16th November at Wem Town Hall as part of his UK national tour.
Kinokulture added, "We are really pleased to be working with the Attfield as the venue is such a wonderful space and we are even more pleased that we can now offer a regular programme of films to Oswestry audiences through to March 2011 when we would like to tie in a number of events with Os Lit Fest including hopefully another live score event."
TheBestOfOswestry wish Kinokulture and The Attfield Theatre every success in bringing the art of film into the heart of Oswestry!
