What a lovely weekend it has been (vile weather excepting). Oswestry celebrated its second Apple Day with a load of lovely apply related stalls on the Bailey Head and down Bailey Street with an abundance of stands with apples, juices, and examples of brilliant home grown vegetable pots and planters. You can see some pictures of the day here.
The Incredible Edible Oswestry Apple Juice went down a storm and there is still time to enjoy an afternoon of apple pressing and tasting - Sunday 27th from noon will be last apple pressing day at Treflach Farm and you are very welcome to come and join in with the chopping and juicing. Once bottled up it will be on sale at Honeysuckle. Don’t forget – proceeds go to plant apple related projects around the town – such as planting fruit trees in school gardens.
And a big, big congratulatory hurrah to Incredible Edible for winning the Mary Hignett Trophy for their Environmental Home Grown projects.
Here's to next year's bigger and bigger Apple Day!
Charmed to my boots by Oswestry and the Welsh Marches. I happily do my best to support the fantastic independent shops and businesses in the area through The Best of Oswestry.
