OMTC's rehearsals for "Annie Get Your Gun" are continuing very successfully, with the company gearing up for full run-throughs of the show at every rehearsal from now on. We are all taking bets on the leading lady (Karen Iaquinta) ever being able to speak without an American Accent again!
Annie Get Your Gun is a funny yet touching show, featuring songs that should be familiar to just about everyone, including "There's No Business Like Show Business", "Moonshine Lullaby" and "The Sun in the Morning". We follow the story of Annie Oakley, a sharp shooter, who joins Bufallo Bill's Wild West Show in an attempt to make the star of the show, Frank Butler, fall in love with, and marry her.
The show runs between Tuesday the 13th and Saturday 17th of April at the Marches School, Morda Road, Oswestry (SY11 2AR, for your sat-navs). Shows start at 7:30 and tickets are available (but they are selling quickly) from Music Makers on Albion Hill, Oswestry priced at £10.
We are currently making preparations for the front-of-house (stewards, box office, helping out the audience, selling raffle tickets) and the bar (serving drinks). We are always looking for volunteers to help out with these tasks, even if it's just for one night! If you can help - please get in contact with me by email at omtc@philsumner.co.uk, or call my mobile on 07946 458270.
Along the same lines, we are also looking for OMTC members (or anyone, if you feel so generous!) to bring along raffle prizes to any rehearsals.
We are still taking names for the Les Miserables workshop to be held on Saturday the 22nd of May - though have made a slight change to the previous listings. Instead of being a full day workshop it'll be held from 10-1. This gives more people the chance to attend (we realise that Saturdays are often a busy day) what should prove to be an elightening experience.
If you are interested in attending, please contact me by email at omtc@philsumner.co.uk, or call my mobile on 07946 458270.
