A successful Christmas Carol service was held on 13 December at St Oswalds Church, Oswestry as a celebration of thanks for all the volunteer work that is carried out in Oswestry.
The service organised by Qube was conducted by Rev’d Simon Thorburn and was attended by volunteers from various organisations as well as the High Sherrif of Shropshire, Mr Richard Burbidge OBE and the Mayor, Councillor Mrs. Cynthia Hawksley.
“We enjoyed a lovely evening and this is just one way of saying thank you to all the hard working volunteers in and around Oswestry. At Qube Volunteer Centre we see first-hand just how much time people are willing to give to organisations looking for volunteer help” said Kim Thompson-Lawrence, Outreach Volunteer Officer at Qube.
The Oswestry Choral Society also performed two pieces at the service.
A quick introduction - I'm John Waine, Director of TheBestOfOswestry. Having lived in this beautiful area for around 20 years now, I have decided to stay. :)
With kind thanks
