One of Shropshire’s largest law firms is celebrating being named among the region’s top performers in the industry’s “best practice bible”.

Lanyon Bowdler’s personal injury and clinical negligence teams have been promoted to the top tier in the West Midlands of the Legal 500 guide for the first time, putting them alongside some of the biggest names in the region.

The Legal 500 is the leading independent guide to law firms across the country and is based on client feedback, research and detailed submissions.

Kay Kelly, partner at Lanyon Bowdler and head of the clinical negligence team, said the guide highlighted the firm’s high performance as brain injury specialists, and noted the team had achieved numerous multi-million pound settlements.

She said: “The team has gone from tier three to tier one in two years, which is a marvellous achievement.

“We are now rated alongside some of the most well-known firms in the area, including big city firms, which reflects very highly on our lawyers’ thoroughness, expertise and service.”

Other departments to be recommended in the guide are corporate and commercial law, crime, dispute resolution, employment law, private client and commercial property.

A dozen of Lanyon Bowdler’s solicitors are named as recommended lawyers, including contentious probate solicitor, Claire Vale, who is included for the first time.
