Three new trainee solicitors have embarked on the first step of their legal career having successfully secured training contracts with Oswestry law firm Lanyon Bowdler.

Amanda Berekdar, Elizabeth Farrell and Kimberley Roberts commenced their training contracts at the beginning of September. Amanda and Kimberley’s first seat will be in the clinical negligence department, with Elizabeth joining the personal injury team.

The three newcomers were formally welcomed to the firm during a ‘meet and greet’ lunch hosted by the partners. Their arrival takes the total number of trainees in the firm to seven.

Head of family and training partner Colin Spanner comments “It’s an extremely difficult task to shortlist so many applicants for interview, and then to choose two or three out of so many excellent candidates to offer a training contract to. We receive well over 200 applications each year, so a good academic record is vital. We go back as far as GCSEs and A levels, but obviously a good degree and Legal Practice Course grade are the most important criteria during the selection process.”
