Advances in medical science mean that many children with life-limiting or chronic conditions can now be nursed in their own home instead of in a hospital environment. Being nursed at home is what the children and their families want, but the relentless nature of home nursing does place a huge burden on these families.
Support from the NHS is often limited, but ROSY is an Oxfordshire charitable organisation which can help ease the burden on families of sick children in the region.
ROSY is a charity which funds nurses to work within the Children’s Unit in the NHS providing vital respite support to families with sick children in Oxfordshire. In addition, the ROSY charity will buy specialist equipment needed by the families of sick children to use in the home and can even provide extra nursing care in exceptional circumstances.
