It has been recorded that during the battle of Hasting back in 1066 a small fort occupied castle hill.
Sometime after that it has been thought that St Catherine's Island was established as a place where Christians can worship by the creation of a small chapel that was built on the island.

Opening Times
As St Catherine's is a tidal island, access to the island is restricted to 3 hours after a high tides and lasts for about 6 hours.

Sunday: 14:00 - 16:30
