The Trust was set up as a registered charity in England and Wales in August 2006. Thanks to the support from Chevron Refinery, pembroke and the Milford Haven Port Authority. 

The Trusts aim is to recover the worlds only surviving mark l Sunderland. Remains a cornerstone and many parts of this wartime have already been recovered and displayed. 

In 2008 the trust secured funding through the welsh assmbly Government Rural Development Plan to creat a centre and workshop at the old Royal Dockyard. the centree is unique to the UK, and opened in June 2009 and has been hugely popular and successful, which attracts thousands of visitors.
