The Levity festival, Peterborough's own comedy festival, will be splitting sides from Friday 19th July.

Based on the same site that the Willow Festival was held on, the Embankment in Peterborough City Centre, The Levity Comedy Festival will entertain audiences with over 150 comedians over 3 laughter-filled days.

Thousands of tickets have already sold for the event, which will be headlined by the Pub Landlord Al Murray, Lee Nelson and Omid Djalili. Other recognisable faces include those of Chris Ramsay, Richard Herring, Alan Cochrane, Stephen K Amos and Lucy Beaumont.

It is the only 3-day outdoor comedy festival in the UK. More than 150 acts will perform over the course of the weekend on seven different stages, ensuring that all festival-goers can get up close and personal with comedy performers.

The organisers are expecting around 20,000 people through the gates on each day, so it is sure to be a great event.

There will be plenty to do and see for families and children, with CBBC presenter Ed Petrie featuring in the children's comedy fun area and musical theatre workshops being run by Stamford-based Wildcats Theatre School. In addition, there is a fully-supervised creche on site so that mums and dads can get out and enjoy some comedy in what will hopefully be a sun-bathed event.

Just as was the case for the Willow Festival on the same site last weekend, camping will be available for comedy lovers and a food village will ensure that visitors are well fed and watered between laughs.
