Saturday was the day that Peterborough's finest rugby sides clashed as they battled in their league tie at Fengate Fortress.
Borough vs. the Lions on a beautiful calm day promised to deliver some thrilling rugby and a great day out! Well to be honest it wasn't all that thrilling. It was stop start, and littered with unforced errors. But it was a great day out...
It was the first Peterborough Rugby game that I have seen and whilst no, it wasn't the fast paced, flowing game that we had hoped for - it is obvious that the standard of rugby being played by both sides is right up there - the tackles being made, and the aggression shown making for a compelling watch! I will definitely be heading back to Fengate to watch a few more league ties this season.
After a tight, nervy first half the Lions pulled away in the final third of the game. They finished pretty comfortably with a 25-6 win to continue their impressive run of form in the league this season.
Here are a few photos of mine from the game. I think you will all agree that the best hair doo has to go to Peterborough's number 2 (throwing in at the line out)... well played sir!
