What's On this September in RCT - Rhondda Heritage Park Goes FREE
FREE events and visits are promised this Summer when Rhondda Heritage Park joins the national ‘Open Door’ scheme.
During every weekend September, the popular attraction nr Pontypridd, opens its doors to visitors free of charge – including complimentary underground tours.
Tours are available at 10am, 12noon and 2pm and visitors are advised to pre-book as places are limited. Please telephone 01443 682036 for bookings.
A series of afternoon talks, and free events are also planned …..
• Friday 2nd & Saturday 3rd September ~ 10.30 – 3pm Charity Book Sale ~ all proceed go to the Rotary Club ~ Rhondda Branch.
• Sunday 4th 10am – 1pm ~ Table Top Sale in the marquee.
• Saturday 10th 2-3.30pm Afternoon Talk ~ On The Buses ~ a look at Rhondda Transport through the ages on board a 1960 AEC Regent Double Decker Bus.
• Wednesday 14th 2-4pm Afternoon Talk ~ Tonypandy Riots 1911 ~ ‘Hopes & Reality’, presented by historian David Maddox.
• Saturday 17th Afternoon Talk ~ Treorchy & the Land of Song, presented by journalist Dean Powell.
• Saturday 24th Afternoon presentation ~ New Visions of Old Pontypridd & Rhondda, presented by Meic Jones, Glamorgan Family History Society
• Friday 23rd September ~ Music @ the Park ~ join Daniel & Laura Curtis for a musical treat as they perform music from the Great American Songbook.
Admission to all events and talks is free of charge and places must be reserved in advance for the talks on 01443 682036.

Open Doors :
Open Doors Days take place throughout September and offers the public free access to places and buildings of historic and architectural interest. Buildings which are normally free to visit offer something special. In 2010 over 300 sites took part, generating over 90,000 visits
