4) 2015 Dorset Food and Arts Festival
There will be the usual regular features including a farmers market, a multitude of stalls offering refreshments and Dorset food and drink, before the musical events on the main stage throughout the day, with a jazz concert in the evening!
The festival is in aid of Weldmar, to whom we have been able to write a substantial cheque in previous years - and this year also supporting three other charities, Artsreach, Dorset's rural arts organisation, Dorset Farmers Markets and Steve Charles' Help A Friend. 5) The Great Dorset Chilli Festival
Bringing the exciting world of chillies to the beautiful surroundings of Dorset for the fifth year, the Dorset Chilli Festival is a great day out for chilli enthusiasts, food lovers and families! 9) Poole Carnival
The event takes place on 2nd August with the procession which starts at the junction of Sea View Road and the start of Ashley Road. It then makes its way along Ashley Road, proceeding the whole length towards Branksome, before turning left on to Alder Road and down the hill to Branksome Recreation Ground. The parade will feature a variety of floats, marching bands, dance troops and entertainers, and of course leading the procession will be the popular Poole Town Crier! Get the thrill of singing in top flight concerts!
Their primary purpose is to sing with the BSO in concerts that need a chorus. They are always interested in hearing from prospective singers and with our Youth Chorus they offer the opportunity for young people to join their organisation from the age of 8. Entry to the adult chorus is by audition. They rehearse at Lighthouse on each Tuesday evening; the Youth Chorus from 6pm and the Symphony Chorus from 7.15pm.
