Blues, soul and Motown will provide the sound track to Poole’s Summer Breeze as the last evening of fabulous free live music, entertainment and fireworks comes to the Quay on Thursday 27 August from 7pm.

Sponsored by Breeze Volkswagen, the final week sees an evening of vintage soul, Motown and R & B from Craig Alexander and the Zephyrs, supported by Mr Kyps.  There’s hot blues, ragtime and jazz from the FB Pocket Orchestra and the local   Bittersweet Harmony and Carefree Choirs at the Poole Arms stage plus mellow tunes from singer/songwriter Jonathan Cotton at the Custom House.

As part of Wave 105’s Summertime in the South, the free event takes place every Thursday evening in August, bringing a party atmosphere to Poole’s continental quayside before finishing with a firework finale at 10pm over the largest natural harbour in Europe.

As the sun sets, enjoy an evening filled with street performers unicycling, juggling, magic and fire displays.  During the evening Poole Field Gun display team will be demonstrating the splitting down and firing of their field gun.  There’s plenty for families to do with rides, a bouncy castle, climbing wall or the chance to learn the art of circus performance in Jamie Jigsaw’s circus workshop.

John Corderoy, Managing Director of Breeze Volkswagen, said: “It has been great to see Poole Quay packed with so many people enjoying themselves and having such a good time.  Summer Breeze is something we are exceptionally proud to support and this year has been a fantastic success.”

Bruce Grant-Braham, Poole Tourism Partnership Chairman, said: “Once again Poole Tourism has pulled out all the stops to deliver a varied programme that has been a real hit with thousands of visitors and local people over the last few weeks.  The feedback has been brilliant and visitors especially can’t believe such fantastic events are happening for free every week.  We are exceptionally lucky to have the support of local businesses so we can deliver such a diverse and exciting mix of free events throughout the year.  And with the Thai Festival and Dream Machines stretching on into September, there’s even more to enjoy.”
