Care and Relief for the Young (CRY) is a local Hampshire-based charity with 8 charity shops - 2 of these in St. Helier, Jersey, and 6 on the UK mainland including "CRY Southsea", 64/66 Osborne Road, PO5 3LU. Tel: 02392 75 33 75.
The shop first opened in December 1999 and has proved to be a huge success with customers, donors and volunteers - in fact it is one of CRY's most profitable shops! In 2009, the shop expanded through into 'Number 64' next door. CRY Head Office regard it as a "flagship" shop - very apt for Portsmouth & Southsea!
CRY is a Christian humanitarian charity caring for disadvantaged, destitute and suffering children, young people and their families. CRY rescues and restores young lives broken by poverty, oppression, exclusion and abuse and provides appropriate opportunities for a better future. Program types include: Care of Children, Young People and Family Support; Education & Training; Medical and Rehabilitation; Agricultural and Micro Business; Emergency Response.

At thebestofportsmouth, we have always found that a visit to the CRY charity shop in Osborne Road, Southsea, to be a pleasure ! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and that there is always a good selection of diverse products for sale that have been kindly donated. Everything on sale is priced realistically and there are bargains to be had ! It is also one of the few charity shops that has electrical goods on sale that have all been thoroughly tested and with a guarantee that if there is ever a problem, the item will be fixed or a full refund given.
