Tea Tales from Traveller on a Quest
There will be tea and tales of the African road when a Lancashire travel writer visits Preston’s newest tea room.
Alan Whelan will give a presentation called African Brew Ha-Ha – the name of his book about his 14,000-mile solo motorcycle quest for the ultimate cup of tea - at the Mystery Tea House on Cannon Street.
The free event – on Friday May 14 at 3pm – will feature pictures from the road, stories not mentioned in the book and is an opportunity to buy a signed copy of Alan’s book.
Alan said: “The Mystery Tea House is the kind of tea room I dreamed of on my five month trip from Lancashire to Cape Town. It’s the perfect venue to meet fellow tea drinkers and travellers and talk about my search for the ultimate cuppa. Who knows, I might find it in Preston!”
Mystery Tea House owner Natalia Staszkowian said: “We know our customers love tea but we’ve never met anyone who’s travelled 14,000 miles for a cup!”
African Brew Ha-Ha is published by Summersdale at £7.99 and is out now.
