Well its Pancake Day Today Folks, or Shrove Tuesday! Shrove Tuesday is the the day that preceeds Ash Wednesday which is the First day of Lent! Shrove Tuesday is mainly observed in English speaking countries, but especially here in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Shrove Tuesday is of course linked to Easter so the date changes every year.
Traditionally the day is known for eating Pancakes before the beginning of Lent. Pancakes re eaten as they are made out of the main foods available, sugar, fat, flour and eggs, these things were traditionally restricted during thefasting that is associated with Lent.
