The wait is over for Radio Redditch, the new radio station for Redditch and the area, which hit the airwaves for another broadcast on 2 November.
Station Manager Chris Gray says "so much work has gone into this and it’s the realisation of a dream for me, running a station in my back yard! Speaking to local businesses, potential listeners and different sports and community groups, its so obvious that the area is brimming with local stories and characters and we are looking forward to giving everyone a mouthpiece”.
Radio Redditch focuses on the town, local people and commerce, as well as playing a great selection of music from the past five decades. They hope to show their service is viable as they look to secure a full-time license for the area, as their management has already provided a full-time service to Kidderminster and Wyre Forest.
Former Kerrang! Radio presenter Mike Peters hosts the breakfast show; Chris Gray, who has worked on another radio station in the county for 3 years presents afternoons and upcoming local talent Jon Wells, from Headless Cross, presents the weekend morning shows.
The station broadcasts 24 hours a day on 87.9FM . For more information visit the website - www.radioredditch.co.uk or e-mail – chris@radioredditch.co.uk
