Rhyl Miniature Railway
Britain's oldest miniature railway
First opened in 1911, Rhyl miniature railway is the oldest miniature railway in Britain. The steam trains were built in Rhyl and have been transporting passengers around Marine Lake for the past eighty years.
In 2007 the new Central Station was officially opened, along with the museum - a project made possible by funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Welsh Assembly Government, Rhyl Town Council and Communities 1st.
Visitors to the railway can now enjoy the facilities of the new Central Station and learn about the railway's history via an audio/visual presentation. A museum and shop are open to visitors on days that the traditional train rides are operating.
