The Sunday Times reported on 29th November that although property prices have risen a little in the 2nd half of 2009 Savills estate agents reported this week that prices are likely to drop back in 2010 and Wales is predicted to see of the biggest drops of 6.8% with only the North East with a larger figure (7%). Some parts of the South of England however will see drops of just 2.8% showing once again the North/South divide. The reason for the falls are unemployment running at higher levels in the North and the level of debt as a % of equity lower in the South making mortgages easier to obtain and more North to South migration.
