Over 50 representatives from local businesses and organisations met at The Nova Centre, Prestatyn for a recent networking event hosted by The Best of Rhyl and The Best of Prestatyn.
Organisers of the event, Alison McMillan and Jeremy Routledge said "This was our first event and was a huge success. Some of our guests told us that they felt a real "buzz" in the room and it was great for us to see so many people chatting and enjoying the evening. We hope to arrange these events regularly as they are a great way for us to promote the businesses we work with and to raise the profile of some of our local charities".
Amongst the guests were representatives from the North Wales Deaf Association who gave a presentation describing the work they do. Guests were asked to make donations to the NWDA and almost £140 was raised.
Alison McMillan said "I know first hand how hard the staff at the NWDA work, they support Deaf, Deafened, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-blind people of all ages throughout North Wales and for some of their members they are often the only form of company they have. We were really pleased that we were able to use our event to raise funds for them and are extremely grateful to all our guests for contributing".
Similar events are planned by the organisers and are a chance for guests to network and make new business contacts.
The Best of Rhyl and The Best of Prestatyn are part of a national network of local websites and are full of local information, local events and a business directory. Jeremy Routledge explained "Our websites are just one of the ways we promote local recommended businesses, we also have a monthly newsletter and are really pleased that we now have events such as this to help raise the profile of our members".
