The 43 hectare London Wetland Centre is the best urban site in Europe to watch wildlife, an international award winning tourist attraction in Richmond upon Thames and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
Located on the banks of the River Thames in Barnes, Southwest London the centre is home to rare and beautiful wildlife including Bitterns, Kingfishers and a colony of endangered Water voles to make any trip worthwhile. The spectacular 43 hectare reserve also features:

The Water's Edge Cafe offers a sumptious selection of hot and cold food, a variety of coffees and chilled drinks, and tempting home-made cakes, the perfect refreshments as you savour the attraction.
The Café is located within the centre of the London Wetland Centre and has the same opening and closing times. Hot food is served between 11am and 3pm. Fully licensed to serve alcohol.
Shopping
The gift shop stocks a wide range of wildlife books, outdoor clothing, bird feeders/boxes, cards, children's gifts and souvenirs of your visit to the centre, offering the perfect memory of your day out.
There is also an in focus8 optics shop stocking everything you will ever need to watch wildlife, from compact binoculars to state of the art telescopes (a percentage of all sales goes to the conservation work of the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust).
