Discover Richmond's History here at the Museum of Richmond, a permanent display of local history and a programme of temporary exhibitions.
Residing near the River Thames and Richmond Green, The Museum of Richmond is a registered museum, created by local residents. It is an independent museum and a registered charity and is supported by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
For hundreds of years Richmond has been a centre of fashion, the arts and the intellect, as well as home to many of Britain's kings and queens.
Tourists and other visitors alike will become aware that the Museum of Richmond celebrates the rich heritage of Richmond, Ham, Petersham and Kew and, through the exhibition and learning programmes, includes all other areas of the borough.
The lavish displays range from prehistoric times to the present day making it the ideal attraction for a family day out: admission is free, and there are always lots of activities to keep children occupied and entertained.
