It has been confirmed that Richmond upon Thames will host ten games during the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
As one of the worlds’ most prestigious events, it is hoped the tournament will have a positive economic benefit on the area, in addition to the new visitors and publicity it will attract.
Starting on 18th September 2015, the world famous Twickenham Stadium will host the opening game, four pool games, two quarter finals, two semi finals and the final match.
Dates for the pool matches are as follows:
Frid 18th Sept - England v Oceania 1
Sat 19th Sept - France v Italy
Sat 26th Sept - England v Wales
Sat 3rd Oct - England v Australia
Sat 10th Oct - Australia v Wales
England will be hoping to better their disappointing performance in 2011, losing to France in the Quarter-Finals. They find themselves in Pool A with both Australia and Wales.
Defending champions New Zealand have an easier task of qualifying for the knockout rounds from Pool C, which features the likes of Argentina and Tonga.
