Mayor of Richmond, Cllr Celia Hodges, spread unseasonal cheer and warmth this year after choosing a painting by Sharmila Alam of Darell Primary School for her official Christmas card.
Sharmila's painting of an African sunset was intended to raise the temperature a little, quite a challenge given the current weather conditions!
The card was sent out to more than 500 people, including supporter's of the mayor's charities and other organisations throughout the borough.
Sharmila and her family must be feeling very proud that her painting was chosen - what a great early Christmas present for her.
