The Garden Gang, Richmond Council, Continental Landscapes and Richmond in Bloom have teamed up to officially launch the borough’s Britain in Bloom campaign – with a tasty twist.
The Garden Gang Green Power, part of Richmond Council, provides employment and work experience for people living in the borough with learning disabilities.
This year the Garden Gang will be growing a ‘veggie patch’ in the grounds of York House. Over the next 12 months they will plant and look after the vegetables. When the time comes and they are ready for harvest, the locally grown produce will be donated to the local Café Sunshine at Diamond Jubilee Gardens, which also provides paid employment to people with learning disabilities.
