The registration deadline for nominations to the UK Youth Parliemant will shortly be up, and Richmond Council are asking all budding young politicians to step forward.
The Council have produced a DVD information pack, and will be on a road-trip through local schools, in an effort to drum up interest.
It's a fantastic opportunity for anyone aged between 11-19 who is part of the London Borough of Richmond to become involved in matters that really affect them. If elected, they'll work closely with local Councillors, MP's and schools in the area, to give their peers a voice.
Elected members will organise and run events, make speeches, campaign, hold debates, and otherwise have a great chance to make a big noise about matters that affect them.
Full training in things like public speaking and campaigning will be available, making this a win-win opportunity.
For more information or to request a DVD, contact Lois Ratcliffe on l.ratcliffe@richmond.gov.uk or 020 8288 7511
Regards, Silas Van Der Bas
