After the success of the launch of The Richmond Card, Richmond Council have announced an extension to their charge-free period. Initially the £2.50 fee for the cards was to be waived until 2nd November, but they will remain free until 2010 to give more people time to sign up.
The Richmond Card allows motorists to claim discounts on parking throughout the borough. Its benefits aren't limited to private users, and local businesses have realised their staff can use it to save money in company cars or vans.
Linked to the Council's CO2 related parking schemes, higher discounts are available for low emission cars, and have probably gone a long way to Richmond being awarded its recent Green Apple Environment Award.
So if you park in Richmond, you'd be daft not to pass this offer up.
