On the RNLI's national fundraising SOS day, January 30 2009, Station Manager Wayne Bellamy and the crew are travelling the 22 miles from RNLI lifeboat station in Teddington to Tower Bridge.
Wayne announced "We are doing it ON FOOT, along the Thames Path, wearing full RNLI Protective Equipment - Drysuits, Lifejackets, Helmets, Boots, etc. It should be quite a sight, and a gruelling 8 or 9 hour journey"
Walking 22 miles in equipment designed for survival at sea will be quite a challenge and will merit every penny of sponsorship earned.
