I've been reminded about an article I read last year, that tackles seven common mistakes / issues businesses encounter with their marketing during the festive Christmas season.
We always feel like the holiday period sneaks up on us every year, and as another busy year draws to a close, often start winding our marketing down. It's a common misconception that potential clients will also be too busy to pay attention to any marketing we attempt, and it's almost like businesses have a last mad dash t wind the year up, before going into hibernation.
Effective marketing relies on good communication, a sound and well thought out marketing plan, public relations, ensuring seasonal contact with clients - to name but a few things.
For example, your clients might have an end of year budget at their disposal - it'd be great to successfully tap into that, wouldn't it? Also, the festive season is surely a great time of year to get along to every networking event available - it's the party season after all.
Starr Hall's article on entrepreneur.com is full of brilliantly simple advice on how to maximise your marketing at this time of year - obviously adaptable for the other 11 months also.
