It’s strange how often it’s the chance meetings that can make a difference. At the end of April I went to my first meeting of the Rochdale Borough Women’s Enterprise Group and met a number of women from a range of businesses. Falling into conversation with Michelle from the Ladies Only Ltd Gym on St Mary’s Gate in Rochdale it became obvious that we offered different but complimentary services all with the aim of helping our patients/ clients to look and feel better and we felt there should be an opportunity for us to work together. We started by exchanging promotional information to display at the other’s premises but then I suggested that we might join forces to host an Open Day to demonstrate our services and the fantastic results that can be achieved. As a member of the Business Club at the Rochdale Rugby Union Football Club I had done a Powerpoint presentation showing our range of services and the before and after results achieved and this was well received judging by the interest afterwards. The goal was to show more people what we had to offer and have a fun event at the same time. I knew that the Rugby Club had superb facilities for such an event and that the room might be available during the summer, non-playing time. I knew some people to approach for demonstrations, Michelle’s husband had the skills to design our poster and she is involved with the Rochdale Feel Good Festival, so working together we have the event booked and the outline planned. We are now approaching businesses to have a stand at the event and also to donate prizes for our charity raffle. Deborah from Best of Rochdale has been really helpful as she has so many contacts in the area. So in a matter of weeks we have the event planned, flyers done, tickets ready, now all we need are people to buy tickets and come on 3rd August from 12 noon. Cost £5.00 including a Bucks Fizz on arrival available from Ladies Only Gym on St Marys Gate and Waterside dental Care at 330 Yorkshire St.
