The days are getting longer, the sunlight is staying longer, the summer months are looming and all is well and good until you realize you have to entertain your son/daughter/niece/nephew/brother/sister/grandchild for six weeks plus. Do not panic, healthy help is at hand!
Fitness is of great importance this day and age for physical and mental well being of all ages. To immerse said child in sports of some kind is to not only teach him or her active skills, but also to help them socially, build confidence and give skills that will last them a lifetime.
Sports in Rochdale offer many different schemes. Why not immerse them in ball sports? This improves many skills such as improvement of balance, motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination as well as muscle and bone development. It will also teach them how to be positively aware of their body and understand the importance and benefits of fitness. Confidence is a little extra encouragement; it gives kids the opportunity to work in circles outside of their home and school life and will give a get away for shy, introverted children – this, coupled with words of encouragement, and metaphorical pats on the back mean that chidren will grow in more ways than one. It will teach the he or she the importance of team work and respecting others. Competitiveness is great but playing sports at a young age will deter the sore loser.
Mental benefits of sports are phenomenal. Exercise releases endorphins to the brain, stops children being bored and directs their energy into positive outlets.
Rugby in particular is an excellent sport, developing physical agility, hand-eye co-ordination, team playing and safety aspects, such as how to protect yourself once you are tackled to the ground. Have a look at Rugby in Rochdale, you never know what you may find.
