Pub lovers and tee-totallers unite! East Lancashire Railway is launching the Rail Ale Trail and you are invited to join us for a special afternoon including:
• Welcome by Pete Waterman OBE, President of the East Lancashire Railway and Paul Simpson, Chief Executive at Visit Manchester
• Guided Rail Ale Tour on board the steam train from Bury to Ramsbottom. Discover hidden gems, visit a traditional pub and micro-brewery, listen to historical accounts and hilarious stories.
• Ale by Rail. Experience beer delivery the traditional way from the Phoenix Brewery in Heywood and Irwell Works in Ramsbottom.
• Dr Butler's Hatstand Medicine Band - live
It's a chance to sample some of the finest ales whilst taking in the stunning countryside of the Irwell Valley and the nostalgia of a heritage steam train.
What is the Rail Ale Trail?
Visitors to the East Lancashire Railway can discover traditional pubs, breweries along the new Rail Ale Trail.
The trail joins the dots and takes visitors on a captivating journey onboard the beautifully restored heritage railway.
