Sales of the official Whitworth calendar have topped 250 copies this year, with only a handful left to sell. Featuring photos of everyday Whitworth life and key diary dates, it has been sold through outlets across the town and at Town-Council led events.
The calendar was compiled by members of the Whitworth Tourism and Leisure Committee, with proceeds ploughed back in to future Whitworth events and initiatives. The Committee is now starting work on the 2013 edition and is asking for photo submissions from the general public.
As Councillor David Chorlton, chair of the Committee explains: “The Committee has chosen a theme of ‘Hidden Whitworth’ for 2013, and the calendar will feature photos of parts of Whitworth that are lesser known or rarely seen. We’re keen to feature images taken by local photographers –please email your photo to whitworthphotographs@gmail.com or, if it’s a print, drop it off at the Council Office marked 2013 Calendar entry (please note that we can’t return prints). Please include your name and contact details, and a brief description of when and where the photo was taken, and the photographer of any shots used will be accredited in the calendar. Photos need to arrive by 9 March to be considered for inclusion.”
