Rossendale 60’s Festival is NEXT WEEKEND & here’s what’s happening!

Yep, the weekend which brings the swinging sixties to Rossendale is almost here – who’s excited? After months of planning, with even more fantastic events announced, we’re expecting this year’s to be even bigger and better.

Saturday and Sunday will be jam-packed with activities for the children, live music, showcases, competitions and all things 60s!

So, what’s happening across the borough?

Bacup is hosting its Vintage Retro Market
Cloud 9 are getting creative with a psychedelic ceramics session
Dandsworks will be featuring a selection if classic cars and bikes
Irwell Terrace will be home to Pete Sweetmore’s digital juke box playing all your favourite hits
Broadwater Hall in Bacup – children’s activities from 10.00am
‘Keep The Faith’ band and a Northern Soul night at Broadwater Hall in the evening
Whitstock festival at The Whitaker Museum from 12noon, featuring music from The Threetles, food, art and culture
60’s open mic session at Café Artisan from 1.30pm – 5.00pm
DJs playing even more soul, Motown and ska at Café Artisan
Rawtenstall Market will be all sixties-esque from 10.00am
Independent shops in Rawtentstall, Bacup and Haslingden will be showcasing their 60’s style as part of the window decoration competition.
Treasure hunt and quiz at East Lancashire Railway’s Rawtenstall station, which will be decorated!
Berni Inn Restaurant in Whitworth will be hosting ‘Berni’s Blues Experience’ on Saturday evening, including a three course meal and the band‘ Committed 2 Blues’, and all for £25.
Rossobus’ popular hop on hop off ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ is here again this year, decorated by children from the Wonderful Things Project. You can see all the events as part of the festival for just £2 bus fare.
